“Protein supplements are wildly popular, but CR’s tests of 23 products found that more than two-thirds of them contain more lead in a single serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day”

Tesla deliberately introduced road hazard with carmageddon mode in its vehicles.
This is seriously wrong.
AI boosters use the vulnerable people as scapegoats tactic.
Sometimes it’s meant as a way to put people at ease who believe themselves to not be at risk, and sometimes it’s a way to say it just happens to “those other people” and that’s ok actually.
The anti-vax team at the central government.
This is what I found over a year ago on the doctor Jordan Vaughn who’s now on the CDC ACIP working group as a “subject matter expert”
The supplement boom is based in shoddy science, or no real science at all.
Because so often the online marketing of supplements and various wellness products involves linking to a study that doesn’t back up their claims at all, but nobody ever clicks through so they get away with fraudulent appeal to authority.
Youtube allows ads that make a really great argument for the government to crack down on this stuff.
These bonkers eyeglasses commercials aren’t even the worst commercials I’ve seen on Youtube, but a lot of these ads are great arguments for government regulation that’s unfortunately not happening. Ever since I was getting new glasses recently, which involved a multiple trips to eye care over a couple of months in order to get it […]
Another attempt, this time at the state level, to legislate forcing consumers into harm from automated stuff without recourse.
Colorado edition. The Lever – Aug 19, 2025 The Plot To Outlaw AI Lawsuits State lawmakers are pushing a bill that would prohibit consumers from suing businesses whose AI use potentially violates consumer protection laws. Helen Santoro Under pressure from tech giants after their legislative loss in Washington, Colorado’s Democratic Gov. Jared Polis has called […]
Dangerous products do get to market, or even stay on the market.
De-regulation actually means re-regulation – in favour of industry, not people over profits, so there’s really no such thing as deregulation.
Republican politicians have been using “natural” catastrophes for eugenics purposes.
Of course the Republicans are using weather now the same way they used the pandemic.
Disguises in casual dress have paved the way for crude and awful law enforcement impersonation.
Seems like this isn’t a good standard to set.
AI Toys. What circle of Hell is this?
I’m sure the toys will come with their own cell data connections to upload the data directly without needing wifi or permission, sort of like the livongo blood pressure devices.
Republicans attempt to mandate deregulation of AI for tech tycoons and fossil fuel.
They want to stop all the protections and oversight of automation completely in the country, and handcuff state and local efforts to protect communities and save lives.
I don’t remember this many weird and scary stories about air travel a couple decades ago.
I haven’t used air travel in many years and at this rate I may never do so again.
Cancer treatment books shouldn’t be written with a chatbot.
This shouldn’t even have to be said.
Feeding the trolls maybe gets you clicks, but rewarding stalkers with attention is dangerous.
Just don’t do it, it’s not worth it.
We need buttons & dials in cars – and far less screens.
When I saw that cars were coming with no buttons, dials, or switches – just touchscreens I started panicking. I probably won’t ever buy a new car if touchscreen controls are the only option on new cars. I don’t find touchscreens to be easy to use, not at all accessible. Having to go through 3 […]
Energy Secretary embraces climate collapse as having benefits.
There are no pluses to climate collapse, and preventing, stopping, and mitigating ecological disasters is something that should be prioritized.
Decimation of NOAA is a threat to public safety.
I oppose the dismantling of NOAA and any privatization of public data.
People who oppose public safety & human health are never right.
This is an example of Kaiser Family Foundation and MedPage Today conforming to manufacture consent, by introducing the topic this way in a PR piece that is of course outrageous clickbait material.
Elon Musk has sued Tesla customers who complain, and also journalists who criticize.
And he’s won the suits for lots of money.
Another “Manifest Destiny” – in space.
Universe, Discovered weekly newsletter from Dave Eicher, editor-in-chief of Astronomy wrote about the Trump administration’s declaration of pursuit of “manifest destiny into the stars”, saying “Manifest Destiny” of course refers to the 19th-Century American movement that fueled the expansion of the United States across the continent to seize territory, displace Native Americans, cook up a war […]
The right-wing chopping at the American weather service.
The right-wing chopping at the American weather service.
Government Executive – DOGE enters NOAA, accesses IT systems and removes the top HR official – The Musk-led team is rooting out DEI and, some lawmakers fear, may have an eye toward grander aims at the agency. February 5, 2025 02:55 PM ET Eric Katz
My letter to reps:
There is no profit motive for maintaining public safety, that’s why the weather service has to be a community government effort. The Elon Musk people should stay the hell away from my weather service. I don’t trust things already. If I can’t trust the weather information, then where are we? Nobody can plan for anything or trust anything if NOAA is corrupted.
Please feel free to copy or repurpose the contents of my letter for your own letters to reps.
