Stop thinking “if only we could convince people” of something, that things would change. Just stop that. It’s not about explaining.

Many will be following the politics, not the science.
Many scientists, medical professionals, and public health leadership followed the politics when it came to masks in the pandemic, or vaccines, and even were swayed by right-wing advertising that targeted liberals. And all this will only get worse now that the federal purse in the US is held out for those who are willing to sell out patients and public health.
The information zombies of pandemic misinformation.
There are things that have stuck with people from the beginning of the pandemic when we didn’t know much, and science & clinical information on covid was new, but we need to move with the times.
People are not even talking about the same things and this is dangerous.
I don’t think most people realize that many times we think we’re talking about the same thing, but in fact, we’re not actually on the same page with the underlying premise or even basic facts.
Public health officials, advocates, and health workers need to be on guard.

Radios are a good thing to have. Devices that require cell service are cell phones and are not the same as radios.
I keep seeing commercials for “rapid radios” where they are trying to pitch these “walkie talkie” type devices as radios that can reach across the country. This is misleading nonsense.
The same problems continue no matter the platform.
Is it a fresh start for you and me, or for engagement clout chasing influencers making money off our attention?
Public comment to CDC HICPAC committee November 2024 by Chloe
Going backward is a choice. We know better now. We use surgical gloves, autoclaves, disinfectants, checklists and yes, respirator masks exist. But big healthcare corporations don’t wanna pay for that, they lock up PPE, force nurses to work without sick leave at hospitals, and make patients beg for reasonable accommodation.
Lab Leak Truthers are Pandemic Deniers.
The false internal logic of being mad about a lab leak, but being cool with spreading the virus.
It’s called STIGMA.
I find it astonishing that most commentaries people write on people not talking about covid never ever seem to mention the word STIGMA because it’s a well known public health term to describe exactly what’s happening.

So let’s logic this out. If the baddies can pay endless money to promote influencers to repeat lies with massive botnets & troll farms. How well can regular folks compete on that landscape?
