Of course messaging from leadership is a central factor in public health.

Of Course Propaganda Works. Don’t Wait For Everybody – Episode 028 Chloe Humbert Aug 14, 2025 (transcript available) It’s incredibly rich but often the people who are supposedly experts on influencing, or in fact are doing the influencing, seem to want you to believe instead that there’s no such thing and influencers are like the tooth fairy, and really, workers never wanted to work from home and couldn’t wait to get back to the cubicle farm to get covid, and hey, also, eugenics propaganda can just be ignored because it’s just clickbait right! For pity’s sake, give me a break. Influencers influencing people that there’s no influence. LOL.

Anyone telling anyone that people refused covid mitigations because of personal choice based on rational rejection of vaccines, testing, masks, and remote work, is either lying or themselves a fool. We know that people were lied to in order to get them to believe false things that made them fear pandemic mitigations more than the disease, because allowing people to be fully informed of the risks of covid in order to want mitigations was considered to be bad for business. This isn’t a maybe, it’s a fact. People didn’t just decide they like getting really sick for days or weeks at a clip and using up all their sick time, they didn’t just decide that they didn’t like masks, testing, vaccines, or remote work. They were actively given bad information that masks are harmful or spooky or weird, that vaccines were scary or would turn people magnetic or had adverse effects that they don’t, and that they would get fired if they didn’t Return to Office because hey, butts in seats downtown for The Economy. And I’m pretty sure believing in the invisible hand of the market isn’t leftist anyway.

I witnessed people using “code words” like 1488 in public here in Scranton in a government building about 8 years ago. The stuff that’s coming out of the DHS didn’t come out of nowhere and didn’t happen overnight. Most material action starts somehow with words.

Democrats Urged to Bow Down to Tech Fascism Gil Duran 14 Aug 2025 The Nerd Reich “You Americans, you are so naïve,” Joseph Brodsky, an essayist and poet who was expelled from the Soviet Union, famously told his students at Columbia University. “You think evil is going to come into your houses wearing big black boots. It doesn’t come like that. Look at the language. It begins in the language.” The WSJ story is a perfect example of what Brodsky meant. Nearly every single Democrat quoted in the piece uses the word “innovation” to explain why Democrats must kowtow to tech.

For me, whenever I hear the word “innovation” I now think of Stockton Rush, may he rest in peace at the bottom of the ocean in the wreckage of his implosion. Just look up quotes from him on innovation. I have come to understand that innovation is a buzzword that should be for us all a big red flag that elite panic is imminent, the type of panic that leads business and community leaders to CYA and hire PR to spin public sentiment on a problem rather than actually working to solve whatever problem.
