This is going to put a damper on getting better politicians elected in Florida. Too close for comfort: Gators seen scratching and knocking on front doors of 3 Florida homes WSVN-TV May 12, 2025 Maybe I’m cynical but I can’t help suspect this is a PR planted story as covert marketing for doorbell cameras because […]

Comparing “AI companions” to “traditional relationships” is bunk PR.
To frame this as “non-traditional” relationship is wrong, because it’s not a relationship, because it’s an LLM chatbot.
AI is shoddy, and it’s used as a shadowbanning assist.
I decided to read this book “Empire of AI” after an interview with the author Karen Hao on the Better Offline podcast, which covers the technical and financial no there there of AI. And in this interview by Tim Miller at the Bulwark with Karen Hao, they talk about environmental impacts, but I think this […]
Free market capitalist Republicans… oh wait – they want to deny your choice of dental health too.
I hope everybody understands now that this was never about choice.
Marty Makary was copying Stephen Miller and saying America voted for this.
I’ve seen a lot of people on social media mad that Marty Makary said, “America doesn’t want covid boosters” and of course this doesn’t mean Americans don’t want covid boosters. He said “America doesn’t want covid boosters”. Important distinction.
Wow. FDA VRBPAC meeting public comments. Not great. More people need to step up.
Don’t Wait For Everybody – Episode 024
Yes, calling and writing your elected representatives makes a difference.
And no, don’t bother calling politicians if you’re not a verifiable constituent they represent. I keep going over this because I continually people saying they’re doing activism, and then telling people to make anonymous calls, or send emails to some official in another state, and that’s just not going to do anything. I’ve explained the […]
Do voters really want right-wing Dem representatives?
It’s troubling to regularly hear about people who talk to Dem politicians and Dem operatives who are seemingly completely out of step with the Dem base entirely.
PA DEP under Dem Governor Josh Shapiro approves Trump admin official to burn tires to print cryptocurrency.
There is NO other purpose for this power plant whatsoever than to make “alternative” currency. It provides no power to the grid, and exists only to print bitcoin.
By law all sorts of things aren’t supposed to happen.
“By law, Social Security cannot be touched in the budget reconciliation process.”
The “Genius Act” is financial corruption.
The pseudoscience eugenics apparent in the idea that crypto tycoon profiteering is a sign of genius is horrendous. The New Republic – Jeff Hauser / May 16, 2025 Are Some Dems About to Cave to Crypto? It Wouldn’t Be the First Time As the Senate considers a GOP-backed stablecoin bill, it’s a good time to […]

Kennedy Jr. are selling a “measles treatment and prevention protocol” for hundreds of dollars, including supplements supposedly formulated by AI. Anti-vaccine activists with close ties to US health […]
Pseudoscience eugenics conspiracy theory is what’s driving the push to keep vaccines from American children.
I really hope people voice support and interest in vaccines for children specifically to elected representatives and to the FDA VRBPAC in public comment.
Others see the new pope and a potential ally in defending against AI hype.
Maybe it’s not as important that the pope understands what AI is…
Former CEO of the coal waste & tire burning crypto printing operation in PA named Trump’s Dept of Energy Loan Program Director.
This is the operation that’s relatively local to me…
Tricksters trying to sign people up for inappropriate hospice via a Medicare fraud scheme.
The commercials for Medicare beneficiaries advertising “free stuff” are often sketchy or outright fraud attempts.
The American president shouldn’t be able to take envelopes full of cryptocurrency from moguls and foreign agents attempting to curry favour.
Moguls are polluting communities to print cryptocurrency while providing no power to the grid, some even get tax breaks or at least are promoted by politicians.
Republicans attempt to mandate deregulation of AI for tech tycoons and fossil fuel.
They want to stop all the protections and oversight of automation completely in the country, and handcuff state and local efforts to protect communities and save lives.
Tech assisted fraudulent stuff is a reality.
“The bearded man, however, doesn’t really exist. Instead, he is a realtime deepfake created by a fraudster, likely to lure the woman as part of a romance scam and have her send money”
RFKJr called chronic illness “injuries” to invoke what has become a conspiracy anti-vax right-wing buzzword term.
David Pakman played a clip of RFKJr making inappropriate statements as usual, and noted the word “injury” being used being odd, but didn’t spell out why he used that word, when it’s obvious to anyone paying attention anti-vax misinformation and the online milieu of anti-vax activists.
Signs it’s a scam.
“Don’t respond to unexpected calls, emails, texts, or social media messages that ask for money or personal information.”
Pope Leo XIV throws down the gauntlet against AI hype.
At his first “working meeting”, the pope outlined his priorities to include defending “human dignity” against the threat of AI, citing the dehumanizing effects of the industrial revolution.
