If something is “drug free” it can’t treat anything, because if it can treat something, it’s a drug. That’s how words work.

That’s the definition of a drug, it treats disease, in the dictionary and legally. But companies use this line of something being “drug free” in order to try to openly skirt the law. “It’s not a drug wink wink.” And now, with Trump giving RFKJr and pro corporate profiteering types in high level positions, these companies are looking to make the government unable to protect us from dangerous products and the liars who will make many more billions from the unsuspecting and desperate.

KFF Health News – FTC Has Long Said Products Must Back Up Health Claims. A MAHA Lawsuit Would Upend That. By Arthur Allen August 25, 2025 In March, the FTC dropped a lawsuit filed in 2021 against Jones and Xlear over the marketing of its “drug-free” sinus rinse as a covid preventive and treatment.

This entire article highlights the kooky grifting nonsense. The legal petition being pushed by Jonathan Emord is that it’s “free speech” to lie to people in order to sell medical products that are not effective or possibly harmful in a number of ways. They claim that companies should be able to use whatever claims they want to sell a product, and it should be up to the underfunded kneecapped regulatory body in the federal government to prove millions of profiteering grifters’ claims, including fake citations generated by shoddy chatbots. And of course it’s because they know the Bullshit Asymmetry Principle will make that impossible. This proposal is basically the medical equivalent of the Gish Gallop. You will not be able to trust any product, because of the sheer volume of unproven and harmful products that will have to be allowed on the market by law. This doesn’t make for a functional civilization, and we’re seeing this already.

And please, if you’re buying and recommending these covid products, you’re supporting right-wing stuff. The people promoting these products online are part of the MAGA MAHA digital soldiers.

The same things that have always worked against virus transmission are the same things that work now, and generally require multiple layers of those things. Paid sick leave, vaccination, respirator masks, hepa air purifiers, ventilation, handwashing, cleaning surfaces, tests. These things should be funded, incentivized, promoted, and or provided free, because they benefit everyone. But the right-wing and corporate aristocratic libertarian ideologues want to sell you on individualist solutions because that’s how they keep taking people’s money, transferring it from our pockets to theirs, and in the process making the right-wing flush with cash, influence, and political power.
