Anyone telling me to shut up and do nothing is not an ally.

This happens to me constantly.

People supposedly “on my side” telling me don’t bother speaking up.

Why would people “on my side” want to keep me quiet??

How does that make sense at all? Why would your allies want you to shut up exactly?

The bad faith bullshit online that I have pushed at me constantly:

  • Don’t even ask for ADA accommodation because it’s an imperfect and individualistic law, that’s difficult to get enforced so don’t even try.
  • Don’t bother writing elected representatives because they don’t always listen.
  • Don’t bother voting because the voting system is flawed with the electoral college.
  • Don’t bother doing political activism because only “action struggle” works (whatever the hell that even means).
  • Don’t bother joining a union because union leadership is sometimes corrupted.
  • Don’t bother organizing at your workplace because some of your coworkers are crappy anyway.

At some point one must ask – WHAT SIDE ARE YOU REALLY ON?

And are they really who they say they are?

Write your reps, and anyone who tells you it doesn’t matter – they’re wrong.
