People in Texas in massive suffering caused by data centers.

“It’s disgusting. It’s cowardly. It’s disgusting. There’s a certain amount of cruelty…”

Elderly people who’ve lived in a small town for 35 years, and most of that time it was quiet, and they now say the noise since the data center moved in is so bad that it’s “been hell” with headaches and difficulty thinking. And technically, these people have decibels inside their house that technically require wearing hearing protection in their homes at all times.

Many of the people complaining are Trump voting Republicans and they’re pissed. Some say they don’t have a problem with crypto or the politicians, but they’re mad at the companies doing this. But who controls the companies? Government. And who controls the government? Politicians.

It’s a known thing that noise pollution is damaging to human health. (And probably anything else in the vicinity.)

This stuff is all the rage with people like Ted Cruz, the right-wing governor of Texas, Donald Trump, and sadly, Democrat Governor Josh Shapiro here in Pennsylvania. Clearly this is not really a partisan problem.

But it most definitely is a political problem.

“Our politicians keep going with corporations even knowing that they’re not being honest. They don’t care about us. They want that money.”

And more specifically it’s often a money in politics problem.
