My letter to reps:

There is no profit motive for maintaining public safety, that’s why the weather service has to be a community government effort. The Elon Musk people should stay the hell away from my weather service. I don’t trust things already. If I can’t trust the weather information, then where are we? Nobody can plan for anything or trust anything if NOAA is corrupted.

Trump quits the US from WHO like he’s cancelling his country club membership.

Membership in the WHO isn’t like giving to some sketch non-profit charity in order to get tax favour.

Bird flu ought to be taken seriously.

Why are people in the dark on urgent matters? It often comes down to elite panic.

One explanation for this is typically if there’s a danger that people in charge are inadequately informing the public about, it’s likely a case of elite panic…

But many did not survive the first time.

I realize that some people think they’re being helpful or consoling somehow when they say “the country survived the first Trump term”, but it’s unthinkingly insulting to all the people who lost their lives…

Trump admin’s grotesque folly set an extremely low bar for looking good on the pandemic.

More Trump will make more of the worst Democrats look not so bad because the comparison is a low set bar.

Threats against government workers is the end result of an extreme anti-regulation movement.

People often have no idea how much the government does when they call for less government.

From pandemic denial conspiracy fictions, to anti-trans… extremists took over yet another school board in Pennsylvania.

This seems to be a recurring theme, and the school board anti-trans bathroom garbage and Black history book bans, is also tied up with pandemic misinformation, and it’s connected to the election disinformation and people involved in January 6th stuff.
