WNEP16 – Scranton requests public hearing with UGI following proposed rate increase – Scranton city officials are requesting a public hearing regarding UGI’s proposed gas rate increase. Author: Maggie Zaleski Published: 5:05 PM EST February 13, 2025 The utility provider filed a request with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) last month for an overall annual rate increase of $110.4 million. If approved, residential heating customers would see a 10% monthly increase, commercial customers would see an 8.6% increase, and industrial customers would see a 7.5% increase.
