When something is sold with a “trick” to get around safety regulations, that’s a big red flag.

ClickOrlando News 6 – Mother sues Florida dairy farm, claims she lost fetus after raw milk led to bacterial infection Labels, website for Keely Farms Dairy in New Smyrna Beach warned raw milk ‘not for human consumption’ Brandon Hogan, Digital Editor Laverne McGee, Reporter Published: August 14, 2025 at 3:21 PM Updated: August 14, 2025 at 9:37 PM The lawsuit — which also names the market where Maddox allegedly bought the milk — was filed Wednesday in Seminole County and claims Keely Farms shipped milk that contained Campylobacter and E. coli. Maddox was allegedly unaware of any potential dangers while purchasing the milk in June from an organic, natural food store, according to the lawsuit. When she inquired about a label on the package that “said something to the effect (of) ‘for consumption by animals,’” she was allegedly told “that was a technical requirement to sell ‘farm milk,’” the lawsuit claims.

It may seem bonkers that she bought it even though they specifically told her it was against the law to sell, and that they had to label it for animals in order to get around the regulations, but the truth is this kind of thing goes on all the damn time in “the wellness” market. Just look at the hundreds of people who buy unproven nasal sprays for covid year after year, despite the sellers themselves admitting they had to contort their claims to get around the law.

And the nose hype continues… More pandemic profiteering that might violate regulations, and definitely isn’t ready for prime time. Chloe Humbert · Sep 30, 2024 Personally I think it’s wrong to just say anyone can circumvent safety regulations just by claiming something’s not what it obviously is being sold as.

There are tons of supplements sold with this trick, where they have influencers and mommy bloggers, and accounts that seem like randos on social media, making the claims, even when the label on the bottles say something else, something serious, because there’s a rule to try to protect people. And that’s before you get to the fact that in the U.S. supplements simply aren’t regulated even the ones you may need, may be prescribed by a doctor, but are inconsistently produced and sometimes adulterated.
