Because of course Rob Bresnahan bought his own private helicopter.

GOP congressman who represents one of the most impoverished districts in PA recently bought a new helicopter Story by Joe Sommerlad The Independent 08/08/2025 Pennsylvania Republican Rep. Rob Bresnahan, who represents one of the swing state’s poorest congressional districts, has been accused of concealing the fact that he recently bought himself a personal helicopter. NOTUS reports that Bresnahan, 35, has not yet listed his “secret” 2024 Robinson R66 chopper among his financial disclosures, with the model in question retailing for between $1 million and $1.5 million.

This guy is on the transportation committee in the House of Representatives. Perhaps not surprisingly he’s part of the aviation subcommittee. But what does he know about the transportation the rest of us use I wonder?

By the way our last representative in Congress, Matt Cartwright became a pilot and also owned his own airplane, and the Republicans made a huge deal about his personal $100k+ airplane when now Rob Bresnhan has a $1 million+ helicopter. And helicopters are much more dangerous too. So this doesn’t just speak to someone being out of touch, but also maybe making poor decisions regarding transportation choices. Has he not heard about the shitshow that is the DC airspace? One assumes he’s using the helicopter to commute to DC from NEPA. What choices will he make on the transportation committee for us, if he’s not worried about himself? And I was always concerned about Matt Cartwright being out of touch, though to be honest I didn’t link this with his wealth, and certainly not with his airplane specifically, so much as I did with him starting to become a machine politician over the years he was in office, and listening to crap political consultants instead of his constituents. But Rob Bresnahan was such a machine politician right out of the gate that even his supposed POSITIVE commercials on tv called him a “business leader” instead of a representative of we the people.
