Am I the only one who feels like this op-ed is anthropomorphizing Trump? This seems beyond “sane-washing” going on here.
Women and Children First – Or Not — A look at the presidential candidates’ records on maternal and child health by Michael Rosenbaum, MD, and Dodi Meyer, MD October 19, 2024 Both candidates have taken steps to support maternal-child healthcare, but in somewhat different directions. Donald Trump is aware of the problem. As president, he expanded the Child Tax Credit providing up to $2,000/year in tax credits for families with children (however, critics argued it was skewed to favor the wealthy and ignored those who are too poor to pay the necessary amount of taxes to benefit). He also signed the Preventing Maternal Deaths Act in 2018 to establish a federal infrastructure to collect data on every maternal death and identify ways to improve maternal healthcare. While Trump has threatened to repeal Obamacare for years, he still has no alternative to replace it.
He has a concept of a plan to do something, right?
Why do these people continue to write about the election like this?
Someone told me they saw a headline on their Apple News feed the other day that said, “Why are Democrats nervous about the election?” And seriously? I don’t know, maybe it’s all the bonkers scary crap that Trump and JD Vance say? Maybe the idea of death squads makes some people nervous? Oh sorry, I mean “live streamed swatting raids”.
