This is seriously wrong.
Tesla’s “Mad Max” mode is now under federal scrutiny The new mode added in the latest update will speed and weave through traffic. Jonathan M. Gitlin – Oct 24, 2025 2:35 PM These days, the company is evidently feeling less constrained; despite having just lost a federal wrongful death lawsuit that will cost it hundreds of millions of dollars, it described the new mode as being able to drive “through traffic at an incredible pace, all while still being super smooth. It drives your car like a sports car. If you are running late, this is the mode for you.”
My letter to reps:
Putting “mad max mode” into Teslas so the car “speeds and swerves through traffic” is so obviously a public safety hazard it’s hard to understand why the government has allowed such a thing. Where are you in reigning this madness in? I do NOT feel safe on the roads with these so-called “self-driving” cars. I now have to be terrified around Tesla cars. This whole industry is a mess and should be paused until we can find out what the heck is going on and before more people get seriously hurt and killed.
