Authoritarians on the left are stifling debate Editor: I agree with the premise of Steve Corbin's column that "several groups... in conjunction with political parties... and politicians are trying to silence you and me via multiple measures" ("Maintaining democracy is not a spectator sport," March 6). They came for parents who spoke out at school board meetings calling them "domestic terrorists." They called you xenophobic when you supported a secure border, but when a busload of immigrants shows up in their backyard, they're put on the next bus out of town. They came after "radical" Christians and spied on them and shut down worship services during COVID lockdowns but allowed hordes of BLM and ANTIFA rioters in multiple cities to burn, loot, injure and destroy without consequences and even raised bail for these criminals. They silenced anyone that spoke out against their climate change dogma. Public health officials targeted Dr. Jay Bhattacharya and others that had opposing views on COVID. They lied and tried every dirty trick in the book to overthrow a duly elected president including a phony dossier, a Russian collusion hoax and two sham impeachments. They wasted tax dollars on a special counsel full of Trump-hating lawyers and found nothing and yet none of those DOJ, CIA and FBI liars were held accountable. They covered up Hunter Biden's laptop and Tony Bobulinski's story prior to an election to save their candidate. They convened a kangaroo court of anti-Trumpers called a Jan. 6 Commission and put on an orchestrated show for the public but failed to prosecute the killer of unarmed Ashli Babbitt. State attorneys general who campaigned to "get" Trump filed multiple lawsuits obviously to interfere with the election. Now state attorneys general acting as judge, jury and executioner are trying to keep their political opponent off the ballot.
