Note that China, largely because of energy shortages has attempted banning cryptocurrency data centers like the one in Carbon County burning tires to print crypto. China has all sorts of pollution problems already. Outlaw crypto operations have been forced to spread out their activities. The bigger threat here in America seems to be coming from monstrosity data centers powering pointless crap like MechaHitler Grokbots on social media. China is a red herring dumb political buzzword.
WVIA reports that the company that will run the proposed data center in Lackawanna County has already had the developer sign a NDA (nondisclosure agreement). We all know how typically not above board or totally shady NDAs often turn out to be. The entire scheme is simply plastered with red flags and has led to a large amount of people in a small town railing against it.
