‘Flash fire’ kills Arizona physical therapist inside hyperbaric chamber NBC News Jul 11, 2025 There are new concerns over hyperbaric chambers after an Arizona physical therapist was killed by a “flash fire” while inside his clinic’s own chamber, according to the local fire department. The fire and circumstances are still under investigation.
But this just keeps coming up, and keeps causing harm.
AP – 4 charged in death of 5-year-old boy ‘incinerated’ in hyperbaric chamber explosion By COREY WILLIAMS Updated 6:09 PM EDT, March 11, 2025 NBC News reported the family’s attorney said the boy received multiple sessions for sleep apnea and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. These conditions aren’t among those approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for marketing of hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment — a fact reiterated by Nessel, who described the boy’s treatment as “unsupported by medical science.”“Because these treatments were so medically unsound, patient insurance policies would not cover the use of these chambers to treat these conditions,” Nessel said. “This business was a pure cash-flow, for-profit business.”
And I keep seeing it dangerously promoted for covid complications. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised because lefties have been promoting colloidal silver and veterinary products.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a well-known quackery service promoted for various diseases which have no cure. Chloe Humbert Jun 25th, 2025 The diseases people claim that hyperbaric oxygen therapy can treat remain uncured. There are only very few reasons hyperbaric oxygen chambers even exist, such as for vasculitic ulcers and of course The Bends. But for the past few years it’s being promoted to desperate people with Long Covid.
One person on reddit actually got ear tubes just to finish out a pre-paid non-refundable HBOT therapy at one of the few places which would do it for reasons which are not recommended.
A Long Hauler Redditor. A review of a long hauler’s self-reported story posted across 9+ months of reddit posts. Chloe Humbert · Apr 30, 2024 But then also reported that they’re getting “pretty acute left ear pain” so they’re planning on seeing an ENT and are concerned about their ear drum under the pressure in the hyperbaric chamber. Hi_its_GOD said this HBOT treatment is costing $220 USD a session and they have to drive 3 hours to a facility to get the treatment because though they said they got the prescription script through Penn Medicine Long Covid Clinic, the local hospital network refused to do the treatment — Hi_its_GOD said because it’s “so novel and off label”. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy has a long history among “quack claims” promoting it for all sorts of things. If you do a search for Hyperbaric Oxygen and unproven claims, one of the results is a tweet thread by Nick Mark MD, in June 2022, debunking FLCCC’s “ill defined post vax syndrome” and their unproven treatments for it being stuff that’s been promoted before for other things, like vitamin C, prescription meds like ivermectin, fluvoxamine, naltrexone, as well as hyperbaric oxygen, which Nick Mark points out comes with some risks if not done well, like middle ear injuries, tympanic membrane ruptures, lung collapse, and even references a story about a clinic director who went to jail after a hyperbaric chamber explosion killed a little boy and his grandma.
